I have LK8000 7.0 installed on my KOBO Aura One and I am trying to use GPS data from a phone with Android 7.0

Wifi hotspot on android phone is on, and is "seen" by KOBO
KOBO Aura is connected to the phone's wifi hotspot

Gps2net is installed, shows 6000

LK8000 on KOBO started in FLY mode
Device A; IP:192.168.43.1 ; Port 6000

On the LK8000 I get GPS: No ComPort
Then, Gps2net: START

On LK8000 I get: GPS No Data Rx

Does somebody has any idea what is wrong?

Thanks!

Robert

-How do you determine the smartphones IP Address?
-For Wifi Connection make sure, the smartphone has an internet connection. (otherwise the Kobo will not recognize the connection)
-Turn WiFi on in LK8000. (Config->WiFi)

However we have a dedicated app for it, making live easier (you don't need the smartphones IP-Address) and giving the Kobo sound as well:

I used to fly with KOBO in Wifi mode since 4 years ago.
But I always dreamed a simpler link to my variometer and also to provide power to the Kobo.
I tried several times with OTG, cables, adapters, converters...
Finally, my ideal solution: Direct link to the serial UART pins on the Kobo's mother board... (Kobo GLO HD)

Works like a charm!

Installing LK8000 on a new Kobo, using MAC. Followed the manual instructions (maybe did something wrong with the .kobo file?). Get
"LANGUAGE DIRECTION CHECK FAIL Check Language Install"
Anybody knows what is wrong??

Which GPS module is recommended for KOBO?

I am talking about modules that can be connected to KOBO mainboard. I am thinking about L86 L86-M33 GPS, would that do?

Has anyone tried it?
