I'm working on the Condor task converter for LK8000 and I have stumbled on a curious feature.

For default-mode tasks, the sector angle defaults to 90°, whereas for ATTs, if no start- and end-radials are specified in the .lkt file, the sector seems to default to a circle

If I look at the document provided by brunotl (https://github.com/brunotl/LK8000/wiki/TaskFile) the start- and end-radials are mentioned as optional for sector type taskpoints, but no default value is mentioned.

data as written by CoTaCo :
<point idx="1" name="TP 1" type="sector" radius="3000.00" lock="false" offset-radius="0.0" offset-radial="0.0" />

same after importing into LK8000 :
<point idx="1" name="TP 1" type="sector" radius="3000.000000" start-radial="0.000000" end-radial="360.000000" lock="false" offset-radius="0.000000" offset-radial="0.000000"/>

Thanks for your help

in my document, "optional" means "if attribut missing task can be loaded", by oposite to "mandatory" meaning "if missing task can't be load" ...

in all case "start/end radial are only valid if "/lk-task@type="[AAT|Race]""

Thanks for your answer

However you haven't answered my question :

For AAT/Race tasks read from a .lkt file, why does the "SECTOR" type become a circle (start-radial="0" end-radial="360") when these angles are not specified ?

For default races I had already understood that they were not valid, and the sector angle is 90°

because 0/360 are the default value in the code, but there can be anything else because this default value is "normaly" never used. there are use only in case of task file are manualy edited or made by third-party software.
