In Seeyou there was an infobox available that shows the ave speed of the last 60 min. This was a very good indicator of your current performance. I guess it is very easy to add such a calculation for you. Maybe with an adjustable ave-time. Or is such a infobox already available and I was not able to see it?
Not so easy as you think, last 60 min. speed of what distances. -IAS -GS -TrueAS -Task -Odometer -OLC -Dmst -FAI Triangle -towards next Target (wich one) : : what to show before the 60min elapsed?
The infobox shows the achieved ground speed over the last 60 min. This infobox is not related to a task - i think it just takes the current achieved distance using an elastic strap (OLC). Off corse it would be also interesting for a task but SYM does not gives this feature at the moment. When I fly together with other gliders in a similar direction it is easier to compare who is currently faster on his track
At the beginning of the flight it just shows the speed achieved from release and then after reaching 60 min it takes the last 60 min.
Yes, I know the pages but there is no ave speed for the last 60min or similar available if I'm remember correct. There is only the ave speed of the whole flight for different options available i think.
. When I fly together with other gliders in a similar direction it is easier to compare who is currently faster on his track
Which also assumes you're were on the same track for the last 60min, in comparable gliders. And even if it was, what exactly is the strategic benefit you derive from this information? I mean, how do you change youre tactic now?
When we fly together we have very similar tracks with the same target and also intermediate targets. I can compare than already which track was faster and discuss maybe why and so I can gain more experience already in the air.
Another thing is during crosscountry flights which last for about 10h. The ave OLC speed of the whole flight does not change very much after a while even when i'm faster or slower. With the ave speed of the last 60min I can see if I'm getting faster or slower. This info helps for the next decissions - I need to find a better track to get faster...
