I have a question regarding start of a task. For the next competition in Austria the tasksetter will give the competitors a start slot in order to prevent a lot of planes in the same area at the same time. For example the start slot is 00 then you can start at 12:00 or 12:10, etc... There will be a margin of one minute before and after the slot. Everything longer or earlier will give a disadvantage because the counted starting time will be for e.g. 12:10:00 when you cross the line at 12:01:15 - same in the other direction.
My question is now is in lk8000 a info box available that helps to achieve a good time? I found the possibility to see the time when the next WP will be reached. This could be already the correct info but unfortunatelly when there is a starting line with a big radius the calculation reflects to the center or the WP itself. Is it possible to adjust this point to the closest point at the start line? There will be one more possibility in this competition - start circle. Also here it would be great if the calculation could reflect to the closest point on the circle.
you have to activate optimized tasks in Tasksetting dialog. In the same dialog you can specify how much of startgates you have and the time intervall. In the flying window now you can see a countdown for the timegate and the speed you need at the moment to enter the gate. So you have to wait until the speed is good for you and then fly the optimized line to startgate. This is very comfortable solution to enter gate at the best time/line.
