Hi
my setup has LXNav S100 & Lk8000 with LXV7_EXP driver.

the latest S100 Firmware allow the PDA receiveing external wind.

the problem is the wind direction is inverted (180 degrees)

Interesting, where is the windvector inverted? On the S100 compared to LK8000?

None of the V7 drivers take Windinformation from the LXNav devices. The only driver taking wind deliverd by $LXWP0 sentences is the LX dirver.

As far as I remember, the LX devices show the angle relative to the glider heading where the wind is comming from. But the manual is quite unclear about the wind direction http://www.lx-avionik.de/wp/download/manuals/LXS8xS10xManualEnglishVer0626.pdf
Also the LXNav dataport spec. does not specify the wind vector reference delivered by the $LXWP0 sentences (relativ to heading, blowing from, going to).

LK8000 calculates the wind direction where the wind is "blowing from" referenced to geographic north (e.g. 225° = wind comming from SW).
And thats what I would expect to be deliverd by the instrument as well, since it is used most commonly this way.

We don't have a LXNav device So I need an NMEA log of flights with significant wind to verify/implement this.

OK, got it! Wind via LXWP0 has the same direction definition as in LK8000 speed is in km/h.
Implemented in LX16xx, V7, V7_EXP and Nano3 driver for next version.

Probably there is something wrong
i've installed the latest beta (7.1c) and the latest lxnav firmware
i used the LXV7_EXP driver and all works except the wind direction, till 180° rotated

you can see the attached pics

Sorry Alessandro we cannot see the picture! you can send it by PM.
However, please do a NMEA log of a (windy) flight, so that we can examine it in detail.
I replayed a lot of NNEAs LX and LK wind estimation was allways more or less the same and never a 180° missmatch, Marco confirmed it.

BTW why do you want to have same wind source?
I really like to have different wind estimations of the different devices to get a better feeling of the (un-)certainty of the estimations (from a redundant independent system).

It works!!!

the key is set the S100 on "Device A" (before, i set "A" the internal gps; the intenal gps now is registered on "Device F).

now the wind component is correctly sent from S100 to lk8000.
using lx_nano3 drver i'm even able to send task declaration

my current setup: Lk8000 7.1c installed on oudie, cable connected with S100 (and S100 has a flarm connected too), lxnav nano3 driver

thanks a lot for the support
Alessandro
