Hi, I cant figure out the wind calculation. Recently, I flew a paraglider (EN-B class) in a north wind of about 20 km/h. I recorded the flight on LK8000 (IGC file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hcg1Ju6kXfn1n2WOaFdE_JVrQXJzQ971/view?usp=sharing)
Fig. A after 78 circles, the program determined the wind from 10 degrees at 13 km/h. Fig. B one minute later, the program reduced the wind to 9 km/h. From the spiral tilt, its clear that the wind is actually more westward and stronger. Fig. C I manually entered the wind from 350 degrees at 20 km/h. The picture became correct I was indeed circling the thermal, then making a glide against the wind, and circling again. Fig. D the same track log played back in XCTrack the wind was correctly determined literally from half a circle and then changed only slightly (2023 km/h at 350 degrees). Could you please advise what Im doing wrong? My settings: Category: Paraglider/HangGlider Type: Para_EN_B-DHV12.plr Max Speed: 49 km/h Auto Wind: Circling Trail Drift: ON (tried OFF) TrueWind IAS: 36 km/h TrueWind Period: 10 s (tried 5 s, 20 s)
