Hi all,

LK8000s internal download manager fetches old openaip_airports_austria_at.aip and openaip_airports_germany_de.aip (or the .cup version) "Exported on: 08.02.2022", more than a year old.

Likely OpenAIP switched to the "new version" so the LK8000 downloader doesn't work anymore.

The CUP files from OpenAIP have now a "rwwidth" column, and the new XML files have no linefeeds anymore, but but both seem to work in current LK8000 (thanks!).

By the way: https://www.openaip.net/docs writes that the ".aip" XML format is deprecated now. JSON is the way to go...

with some experimenting I found that the current URLs for the daily openAIP XML exports are:

https://storage.googleapis.com/29f98e10-a489-4c82-ae5e-489dbcd4912f/country_apt.xml where "country" is the two letter country code.

Example:
https://storage.googleapis.com/29f98e10-a489-4c82-ae5e-489dbcd4912f/at_apt.xml yields Austrian airports.

So these files need to be renamed to be used with LK8000.

And these data sets still contain many heliports, water airfields and closed airfields, therefore I post-process the files to remove these unlandable entries (using xmlstarlet).

sorry, I have nothing to be pulled from.

I wasn't aware that https://github.com/AlphaLima/LK8000_Data is the source of data... Is it updated manually?
