Hi,

I'm using version 7.2 (Dec 5 2020) on a Sagsung phone.

For some reason G class frequency boundaries are not longer shown on my map.

If I go to CONFIG 2/3 > LK8000 SETUP > 2 AIRSPACE > FILTER I have display against all types of airspace. If I click LOOKUP I see the airspace displayed ie
CANBERRA APPROACH 124.5 G
and is not DISABLED
I also have AIRSPACE DISPLAY set to ALL ON
but it is still not displayed on the map.

Is there somewhere else in LK8000 where I might have disabled displaying of this airspace on the maps?

Thanks in advance for your assistance,
Peter Evans

The airspace file you are using is that an Openair text file?
If so, check the vertical limits of the area that doesn't show the boundaries.
If the lower and upper limit are "0" (zero) then there wil be no boundaries visible on the map
This is a new feature, introduced in LK in 2020.

BravoLima, thanks for your troubleshooting.

YES, it is an OpenAir file and
YES the AH line was defined as BCTA and this was interpreted by LK8000 as 0ft MSL and thus it was not displayed.

I edited the file in the following way and "AN CANBERRA APPROACH 124.5 [H24]" is displayed on the map and "AN CANBERRA APPROACH 125.9 [H24]" is NOT displayed.

-------------------
AC G
AN CANBERRA APPROACH 124.5 [H24]

I understand that the problem is solved now?
BCTA is a Control Area Class B?

BCTA is the Upper limit and in Australian aviation speak it is Below ConTrol Area.

When I have time I will further investigate the issue about BCTA being interpreted as 0FT and thus not being displayed in LK8000 maps.

Thanks for your assistance.

Have fun. Fly safe

according to CASA, BCTA is abreviations of "Base of CTA" and CTA is abreviation of "Control Area". it's not an altitude but a reference of another airspace lower vertical limit (the CTA), and that depends of where you are (for Canberra seem's you have 9 CTA from class E to A with lower limit from 3500ft msl to FL180).

so BCTA look like Below FL125 aka "outside others airspaces", right ?

Brunotl, yes "AH BCTA" should be parsed in LK8000 as below the CTA which is defined elsewhere in the file as having AL SFC

AC G
AN CANBERRA APPROACH 125.9 [H24]
AL SFC
AH BCTA

My temporary workaround is to edit the file to

AC G
AN CANBERRA APPROACH 125.9 [H24]
AL SFC
AH 100FT

Thanks for you assistance,
Peter
