Hello, I've just installed LK8000 7.0 (otg version) on Kobo Aura Edition 2 and it works fine. I've successfully connected the GPS on Android via WiFi. I'm now trying to connect a USB GPS dongle, the Canmore GT-730FL-S GPS data logger that I already own http://www.canadagps.com/CanmoreGT-730FL-S_SiRF4.html It could output signal on NMEA-0183 standard (4800/8/N) and I could read it when connected to my MacBook using CoolTerm.app But I cannot recognize it on Kobo using an OTG cable. Always "GPS not connected" on screen. "Restarting Comm Ports" every 30 sec
I've configured:
Name:NmeaOut Port: /dev/ttymxc0 Ext.Sound: OFF Baudrate:4800/8bit Geoid Altitude: ON Serial mode:Normal Device model:generic
Should I try with a straight cable? Any hint or suggestion to experiment more will be very appreciated Thanks to all |

Thanks Bruno. The dongle is self powered with internal battery, it works also as autonomous data logger. I think the problem is more on the driver or the data format. I will try with others preconfigured devices. Anyway you confirm to use an OTG cable, thanks for the info. |

you still need Y cable, external power is not needed for power your dongle but for power usb port of kobo... |

Hi guys,
I have LK8000 7.0 installed on my KOBO Aura One and I am trying to use GPS data from a phone with Android 7.0
Wifi hotspot on android phone is on, and is "seen" by KOBO KOBO Aura is connected to the phone's wifi hotspot
Gps2net is installed, shows 6000
LK8000 on KOBO started in FLY mode Device A; IP:192.168.43.1 ; Port 6000
On the LK8000 I get GPS: No ComPort Then, Gps2net: START
On LK8000 I get: GPS No Data Rx
Does somebody has any idea what is wrong?
Thanks!

I just would confirm that with Y cable and external power the GPS dongle has been recognized from the LK8000 on the Kobo (setting as Generic device) I haven't yet tested in fly but on the ground it works flawelessly. Thanks a lot for the support |
