LKMAPS_Desktop 1.0.1.7 is available for download. News : Now more precise terrain with resolution up to 30 meters can be generated using NASA SRTM 1 arc-second data.

I have produced a map of England and Wales. The mainland looks very good, but the Isle of Wight, Isle of Man and Anglesey are shown as "blue sea" with roads, towns and airfields floating on the surface of the water. Is this a known problem? I have screen-shot here

I have the opposite result. The map I made of the Netherlands shows mainland in places where there are many waterways. See screenshot: the southwest part of the Netherlands. |

I am from South Africa (Jeffrey's Bay area) and my .LKM file has almost no detail whatsoever. The file itself is very small too. For a map size of about 2000KM square, the .LKM file is a mere 30KB :-( In OpenStreetMap I can see lots and lots of detailed info of my area but this program is not able to use it. What should I do now? Is there another way to compile the .LKM file from OpenStreetMap? |

Hi BravoLima, I have the opposite of your result... Same area, same scale.

@Vinsama Thank you for your help. Your method works very nice but most people have an issue with the topological files (.LKM) ones. The terrain files (.DEM) are working just fine in Tonio's program. |

Hello Toni. A BIG THANK YOU for all the work and time you have put into this program. Yes, we can create the .LKM files. Your program works well but the resolution is very coarse. And because of this, when we zoom-in to our respective locations, the mistakes are visible. As an example, MOZAMBIQUE is a huge country yet the created .LKM file is not even 1.5MB! What we need is a way to change the resolution at will. Yes, there are settings in your program but they do not seem to function correctly if the maps are too large or too small. I understand it is difficult what the program does. It basically compiles a new map from data from the OpenMaps. I think it will be easier if you give us the steps we must perform manually (using other programs), in order to make the .LKM file. |

It was such a great tool when it was working... I can't get any terrain maps generated any more. LKmaps just gets stuck at 'Mosaicing...please wait' I have installed the newest version 1.0.1.9 still the same problem.
Does this brilliant software (desktop version) still work? |

Yes I'm having the same problem, I'm trying to make a map of Lanzarote as the standard one lacks detail |

I just found that the server I chosen for downloading the terrain tiles is down. I just changed the server to a new one. Version 1.0.0.10 is available for download and update. Tony
