Hello Tonino,
i made a mistake: i meant "create terrain"
lkmaps downloads all strm files quickly leaving in folders strm files at 0kb.
anyone else has same issue? |

Got same issue than JBlyth..
Process freezing on "Mozaicing",
I used a very small square (not more than 2kmē), check "middle" on all, and it doesn't work for me.. |

this is waht I also get..frozen on mosaicing(how can lkmaps process anything when srtm are at 0kb/) in :
C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\LKMAPS\srtm
Also offline topology stuck in processing OSM............for more than 10hours
Thats strange that some users can get some resultsand others not a thing...

As Riand, i went to the way of reducing size of osm/osm.pbf cause often huge file, with a different sofware:
i use Qgis, to create .geotif(leading to .acs then .dem, other topic). with this layer or by choosing my own coordonnates in Vector>openstreetmap>download i get osm much smaller of aera then i process it with LKmap desktop
good part:
i can procress osm file of 120mb high density aera(#8776;18000km2) with LKmap desktop with very high everywhere(as shown on photo), in just 2min !!!giving .LKM file of 1MB working fine.

problem:
But when i want to process .osm much smaller file 50mb low density aera in much bigger aera(#8776; 60000km2), now LKmap destop freezes and stay on "process OSM" indefinitely.... or with same aera(18000km2) but in high density aera(.osm file of 700MB)
It seems like there's a correlation between size file(density of raods,details,...) and surface of aera chosen that triggers LKmap desktop process and unable it to complete task.
I dont think it needs several hours for LKmap desktop to make results(even in very high quality) cause my recent experiences for .dem or .lkm involve big files and done in minutes
I hope that can help...

Hoping someone can Help me out.
Trying to install LKMAPS on my laptop (Windows 7 Enterprise SP1)
I've downloaded the LKMAPS_Desktop.exe (From the Link at the start of this thread) When I try to install I get the following error "Can not install LKMAPS_DESKTOP 1 to the specified directory because it does no contain LKMAPS_DESKTOP.
Heres a screen shot. What am I missing?

Tried now on 3 different systems, both Offline and Online Topology no longer function =( Even tried different versions of .NET Framework to see if that was the problem.
Even is just creating a tiny little map nothing happens
Really need this fixed please. LK8000 is pretty much useless without being able to create proper maps. |

Seems to be a problem with Africa. as I can create maps for North America
Have a friend going to Africa to fly around Malawi.
Map Area is as follows.
Top: -9.43 Left: 32.89 Right: 41.26 Bottom: -18.85
