OK, I have tested ("building" != NULL) OR ("landuse" IN ('construction','industrial','religious','residential','retail','school','garages'))" and it looks very well. |

Tony, with VeryHigh details it's excellent. I will change manually a few things but it's just finishing.
Off Topic: Is it possible to add another layer (what name?) witch will be displayed by LK? |

Everything is possible. But adding new items require some good work because each topology "layer" (type) in LK has its own zoom level. There are changes in the code to be done, and these changes would not be any useful for the 550 maps we have online. |

This is good idea because many of our big cityes look like a number of small towns
Also, I see that cyrilic simbols on the map can be seen as "????" in LK. |

Hi Toni,
I have just tried a map of Hokkaido in Japan. It seems the lakes are not included even though I set the lake area to .1km. The LKM file is only 906kb even though I have the city detail etc at high and the geometry at 50 metre. The DEM file is 92Mb.
The terrain looks great and I was surprised at how fast it all downloaded :-)

There are several problems on this picture: 1) "?????" - LK does not recognize cyrilic (it is LM8000 problem I think) 2) Big city on the map center is not correctly shown 3) River shape is broken. It looks fine on map with bigger size, but this problem can be seen in different place.

Hi Toni,
I could do, but then I am not gaining any improvement in map detail to what I already have. However, I will use the higher resolution of the topography your program gives until the Open Map data is more complete....
Keep up the great work! John in Sunny Carnarvon - Western Australia

I just tried Jappan and I do not see any issue with lakes. Every thing is mapped as "Natural=water" is mapped corrrcly as lake in LK8000. I indeed found issues with name encoding and this is a problem should be solved involving also maybe some LK8000 modification. Tony

How did you view the resulting file, Toni? I have tried it twice in LK8000 PC and no lakes show from the Open Maps version. |

Hi Toni,
I think I have found one solution. I downloaded your program from the opening post, and that still seems to point to version 1.0.0.0 of the software.
After opening it a few times, I have been updated to 1.0.1.4, which appears to have more controls. I have also downloaded the .pbf file for Japan from http://download.geofabrik.de/asia/japan.html, as prompted by the program.
It is taking a long time to run, but I think this points to my original problem of no lakes showing being the very small LKM size of 906kb. I am sure it will be considerably larger once the program has finished parsing the .pbf file this time with the latest version.
[EDIT] It took more than an hour, but the LKM size has increased to 1.6Mb and the rivers and lakes now show up. I'll run it again to get the local smaller lakes to be shown, but it looks fantastic!
[EDIT 2] I ran the Topology again with Lakes set to .2km, and now all the smaller but important lakes show up too. Only increased the LKM size by 30kb!
Cheers John Lakes set to 1km
Lakes set to .2km
