Posted - 16/04/2024 : 08:22:17 I saw in another post that there was a development decision to not provide safety information similar to FLARM alarms on LK8000. Is this because of FLARM's patents on collision avoidance or some other reason? I was thinking that if collision avoidance was built into the flight computer then cheap transceivers like softrf could be used to provide a similar or even better collision avoidance information than we currently get. |

Posted - 18/06/2024 : 20:50:33 The decision was mande since LK8000 is a very complex software that runs on very different hardware, malfunctions or delayed reactions may occur. Therefore, we do not want to add security features that users must rely on. It is intended as a navigation computer, but not as a substitude for a dedicated flarm display. |
