Posted - 15/04/2019 : 08:42:34 Hello,
some short questiones:
If I connect a bluetooth Aisspeedsensor to LK8000 will headwind be calculated like: a) TAS minus Groundspeed or b) Headwind is Headwindcomponent of latest Wind calculation
If a) is correct, what will be used for final glide calculation?
-) Headwind (always actual if Airspeed is available) -) Wind coming from latest windcalculation
Thank you and best regards, Martin

and is "headwind" used for final glide calculation, or is final glide calculation based on "wind"? (headwind is currently updated - wind is more difficult to update, because winddirection is more difficult to get)
On the other hand: If I put the Wind manually (because I know, that it will change during gliding) it is better to have it based on wind.. |

Posted - 17/04/2019 : 12:14:30 I believe Head Wind is actually IAS-ground speed. I use this for landing as it is easier to read the wind direction in real time.
@AlphaLima maybe you made some confusion with wind calculation alone?

Posted - 17/04/2019 : 10:10:44 b! Having the GPS + airspeed the wind is calculated by a quite accurate modified Kalman Filter. (Wind setting "Both") |
