Good that you are sorted, but here is the equivalent line from my modified CUP file ,which works. On the map it is shown as ABB.

ABB,"Abbot's Bromley",UK,5248.780N,00154.594W,328ft,1, , ,,"Turn Point, Reservoir/B5013 E, E end of B5013 crossing water, 1.5 NMl W of town. Easy to find and on chart."

As suggested by brunotl above I changed the first line of the .cup file to
name,code,country,lat,lon,elev,style,rwdir,rwlen,freq,desc
"Abbot's Bromley","ABB",UK,5248.780N,00154.594W,328ft,1, , ,,"Turn Point, Reservoir/B5013 E, E end of B5013 crossing water, 1.5 NMl W of town. Easy to find and on chart."
but it still didn't load the waypoints.
I then tried bga2020.dat for winpilot and that works correctly.
Problem solved for now.
Thanks.

Seems there is something worng with your waypoint file,
>[376424563] . LOADED 0 WAYPOINTS + 20 virtuals
can you try another file? (e.g. the OpenAIP version)
DickVentus Posted - 07/09/2020 : 11:15:29
I just tried uninstalling and reinstalling LK8000 V7.1p but still have the same problem
DickVentus Posted - 07/09/2020 : 11:03:47
Yes. I do have proper waypoint file. Map file UK.LKM Terrain UK_S_500.DEM Waypoints BGA2020.cup
I'm sorry I gave a poor explanation of my problem.
I can set the home waypoint and it jumps to it but when I exit the program and then restart it does not reload the home waypoint. It does reload the task I had set before and all the airspace and terrain. I see now on the screen it is not loading ANY waypoints, only the 3 associated with the task which includes my home waypoint, and this shows in the runtime.log file.
The waypoint file is selected as waypoint file 1.

Extract from Runtime log V7.1p
[376424556] . Waypoint file 0 format: SeeYou
[376424563] . LOADED 0 WAYPOINTS + 20 virtuals
[376424563] . LoadRecentList: loaded 0 recent waypoints
[376424572] . open AirfieldFile <WAYNOTES.TXT>
[376424572] ...... No HomeWaypoint, default position set to terrain center
[376424587] . Reading OpenAir airspace file
[376424624] . Now we have 938 airspaces
[376424624] . OpenAir: 0 airspaces of 937 excluded by Terrain Filter

I recently had a similar problem with my standby V2 running 7.1p (Windows). After checking and not finding anything wrong, I deleted the LK8000 executable, and then copied it back in again, problem solved.

tested on Android Nokia8 with 7.1p, everything ok with home airfield.
centering happens when a new map/terrain is selected because the home waypoint becomes invalid. If the new home airfield can'T be found...
-do you have a proper waypoint file for the terrain incl. the home waypoint?
-is the home airfield defined in the waypoints and inside the terrain area?

greetings
AL

Setting HOME.
In Android V7.1f setting the home airfield does not work for me in simulation or Fly modes. (galaxy S10) It chooses the middle of the terrain area.
It does work on Android V7.0 and on PC v7.1k
DickVentus Posted - 06/09/2020 : 17:29:29
In the Galaxy S10 the volume for LK8000 is controlled by the Notifications volume control. Strange but true. It works OK.

Thanks for the explanation
Understand your argument, but remain convinced that it is confusing.
Would prefer volume keys to control volume, but that's just my opinion

the only odd thing I found with controlling volume settings on my phone, was that I had to preset the volume before starting LK8000
If I try volume control on my phone while LK8000 is running, then volume switches are actually controlling zoom, not volume.

weird
btw (in case it matters) phone is Nokia8

you right, it's made like that because in flight zoom in/out is much more often used than sound level up/down.

you can change sound level when LK8000 is running if you put it in background.

Perhaps for a future release it Would be possible to have the sound volume controlled, possibly by the Android phone volume control? On my phone, a Galaxy S10, I find the volume far too loud and would like to reduce the level, as some sound is useful.
