Posted - 02/03/2011 : 23:12:32 All pilots should say thank to Andreas Rieck, volunteering and managing the FAI WXC, for his contribution and more than kind attention towards LK8000, to make it immediately APPROVED as a logger.
From his own words:
Approval means now, IGC file is within spec and when a national paragliding contest allow opensource, then we simply trust what we get from connected server and are able to sync these files for scoring as well. Again please note, CIVL dont have a interface for flight uploads and accept only flights from attending contest servers (national contests). This keeps and safes the good and hard work from national developers for their contests, and allow to attend a international scoring.
CIVL Plenary meeting (attending nations) last weekend approved WXC contest now as official. WXC is not longer just a trial. :-)
Thanks Andreas!

Posted - 07/03/2011 : 17:05:49 It was 1.22b version, and in the end of the igc i have only "G Record Invalid" Maybe sth was wrong with my device in that time. I didn't fly from that time with LK, but i found that in the newest igc log which was saved when I tested new version of LK, there is a grecord. So prapobly it was sth wrong with my device |

Posted - 07/03/2011 : 11:37:44 And in the beginning of the igc you can find information about what version of LK was used etc:

Something could be wrong with your installation. If so, just backup your config file etc and reinstall LK

Posted - 07/03/2011 : 11:31:01 You should find a few lines starting with G in the end of the igc file:

Posted - 07/03/2011 : 10:28:38 After the flight I simply exit from LK8000. It's the hole story. How should look good g-record in igc file from LK? Bartek |

Posted - 06/03/2011 : 23:08:33 I've seen pilots using upgrade version as a full version and as you can imagine important files can be missing!
I've seen impossible things happening! :)

Posted - 06/03/2011 : 21:01:44 UHM! If your log has no grecord, than there was something odd happening during recording, or a bad configuration with missing files. Hard to tell you.

Posted - 06/03/2011 : 20:34:47 My national contest xccpl, have the same validating soft like the wxc. The xccpl is a part of the wxc. But my old flight from september 2010 have a wrong grecord. The contact from xccpl said that the igc track has not have g record at all. What I.m doing wrong? Maybe it mast be the igc track from newest version of LK8000? Paul thanks for your work. Bartek |

Posted - 03/03/2011 : 13:21:12 I think is a really good thing having GPSDump validating flights from LK8000! GPSDump is approved by FAI And used by all organizations to download the tracklogs from gps! |

Posted - 03/03/2011 : 11:45:32 GpsDump can currently convert IGC files to .kml files, including ones from LK800. The only problem is that now the .kml will be marked with a warning that the tracklog may have been edited/tampered with.
Several web based flight logs and also competition scoring software use .kml files instead of .igc. There is a validation process in GpsDump and probably other software that is supposed to tell if the tracklog is ok or not. So if FAI recognises LK .igc files, then GpsDump and similar software should also validate them when converting to another format such as .klm.
What dokumentation is needed to do what I suggest? |

Posted - 03/03/2011 : 09:05:26 Hi, thats great!
I informed Stein Sørensen, the developer of GpsDump about this, and asked if he could make GpsDump validate IGC files from LK8000.
He immediately replied that he will do so, he just needs some documentation about how the igc files are created, or the neccesary libraries.
If Paolo or one of the other developers wants to get in touch with him directly, I can forward the email from him. Could be more efficient than using me as a middle man..
Stein is very nice guy who already made several improvements of GpsDump upon my requests, including .dat waypoint file support and suport for various Flymaster instrument commands.

By the way, GpsDump is used by a lot of PG/HG pilots, both recreational pilots and in competitions.
