I think 1.22 is a distributable version, and many people is asking for a public release of it. Although it is not the final version I have been thinking of, it is time to let it roll.
I can't clean up the code, having no time right now, so I will distribute the source code "as is" shortly.

I'd like to know if generally is Ok for everybody here if I release the stable versions source only.
There is a reason for this. Odd versions have bugs in it, and are generally useless for debugging being undergoing development, at least up to the latest odd version.
So it might be useful, for tracing down bugs, to have a 1.18 and 1.20 version as well.

Who is going to be interested here in the source code, apart from Mat (I know of)? Just to gather volunteers for developments!

Paolo

I have imported all source tarballs into my git repository:

http://git.snow-crash.org/?p=xcsoar.git;a=shortlog;h=lk8000

To clone my repository and check out the LK8000 sources, type:

git clone git://git.snow-crash.org/xcsoar.git
cd xcsoar
git checkout lk8000

It turns out that LK8000 is not based on XCSoar 5.2.4 (like Paolo said several times), but was forked at some point shortly after 5.2.3. Important 5.2.4 patches are missing, but these fixed may have been reimplemented by Paolo meanwhile, which I did not check.

XCSoar 5.2.4 contains a dozen of patches which were written by me, but these changes are not present in LK8000. Which means I am indeed not a copyright holder of LK8000. My copyright claims were based on Paolo's statement that he forked off 5.2.4, which is not true.

(Joyfully waiting for flames from the usual illiterates in this forum now, who fail to understand the above logic)

For all of us. I'm happy to have done it, although the code was not yet ready for it.

And especially for XCSoar developers ;)

Sorry Paolo but when I visited the website I couldn't see the file.

Today is a special day for all LK8000 users.

I have added some more source versions in LKSOURCES.
But I doubt anyone will ever care to look at those intermediates unless we all discover some old bug we cannot solve, and it is not the case with 1.22.

On the bware page, where else?
parapenT1sta Posted - 05/09/2010 : 19:36:20
Where? ;)

Hi Paolo,

This is excellent news, thanks for resolving matters in this way!

In an hour or so..

Great Paolo!!! We thank you for that!

When are you going to distribute the exe files?
Coolwind Posted - 05/09/2010 : 15:52:35
Sources are now available! www.bware.it/listing/LKSOURCES

Versions from 118 to 122 are complete with all the stuff from the original CVS on xcsoar.
alfa9 and 116 have only the Common directory, with headers sources and data, because that's what I am usually backupping (makefile is not changing much). To compile them you may get 5.2.4 makefile and add missing files, if any, in it. I may do it if you have problems, and if anyone cares.
I made test of compilation on 118 120 122 versions, no problems.
You need mingw32 to compile it, under linux. I am told that Ubuntu has it ready to use.
I had to compile my own mingw32 version in 2008 because I am not using Ubuntu but a custom private distribution which is not commercially available.
