"!< Propeller shaft DG-1000T - once more! (NEW!) 6.11.13 16:43 Alter: 43 days
Update of Status Solo-Propeller Shaft DG-1000T

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

During the last days we received multiple inquiries regarding the status of the prop shaft on DG-1000T/DG-1001T motor-gliders. After several prop shafts had been broken, SOLO published a TN. Since that time, we are looking for a solution to this part. Because the shaft is produced by SOLO, it’s in their hands to adapt this part now.

In cooperation with material specialists and DG, SOLO is working on a solution to avoid cracks in the prop shaft. Currently they are testing a prototype part. We all hope that the changes result in a new, accurate prop shaft. As soon as such a new prop shaft is available, we will of course inform all customers immediately.

best regards

"A prospect was checking out the nifty Antares 18T
sustainer system somewhere over the forest west of ZWB,
when to his great surprise, the propeller departed.
Hell of a way to impress a prospect.

The problem is with the Solo propeller shaft with the
belt reduction system as used on, IIRC:
- Ventus CM (not V2)
- Duo T
- DG-100T
- Antares 18T
Apparently there have also been recent incidents with DG1000T.
The propeller is not identical on all the above so the
failure rates will differ."

Ciao Carlo,

puoi confermare?

grazie e Buon Natale
Alberto
