Hi Marco
Thank you for the feedback, As Coolwind said we have tried this but with no success. We are still all working very hard to resolve the situation and will report back once we have some news.
Kind regards
Lawrence |

Hi everyone, we're working hard on finding a solution so please be patient. I wanted to show a small comparison I made recently since the track smoothing discovery. One plot is from my XC Trainer and the other from the V1 running LK8000. As you can see the plots are almost identical, this is from a PG flight with the V1 as sold already. I will post on here once we have a solution to the issue.
Kind regards
Lawrence

Hello Lawrence,
The comparison must be made at higher speed than PG: with the glider you easyly turn from 90 to 120 Km/h. Higer is the speed, bigger is the error caused by track smoothing / dead reckogning.
My turns in thermal (glider), executed as circles, looked very very oval and with strange direcrtion changes detected by the gps, causing what you know (wrong th centering, wrong wind, wrong ground speed, wrong turnpoint, ecc). The result was terrible.
We need no algorithms at all: only real position and speed. Hoping in a quick solution.

| As many devices advertised as Bluetooth, are only capable of connecting to a phone, is the V1 able to accept a Bluetooth connection to an external gps to use as Device A, and as well the GT Altimeter as Device B (my current iPAQ 314 setup)? The BT gps was the way round the similar problem with the iPAQ a couple of years ago, and works very well. |

Hi Enrico - I only posted the track plots to show that for lower speeds and PG use the V1 GPS works well, I wanted to illustrate this as I have been getting many emails from PG pilots as well.
I am aware of the issue with gliders and the high rates of turn, speed and more importantly banked speeds and am aware of the ovalised tracks this causes. Everyone is working very hard to find a solution and we are exploring many different avenues.
As I have mentioned as soon as there is news I will update all customers via email and I will post on here.
Unfortunately the V1 has no BT but an external GPS could be connected to the USB port. However finding the solution to the track smoothing issue is a must.
I will keep everyone posted as soon as there are positive developments.
Kind regards
Lawrence |

| I used SiRFdemo.exe before, instead of SirfTech.exe, to make some changes to a Holux 236. SiRFdemo also has a on/off smoothing option and can be downloaded freely. |

Hello All, I have seen some very nice pictures of the V1 and Oudie using LK8000 in portrait mode. Can anyone provide an instructive (and very detailed for the technically challenged) process of the best way to do so on this device? Best Regards, Mark |
