Hi,
I have two profiles for the same flying (hang gliding) area, one profile for each launch site in the area. I'm content to use the same waypoint (WP) file at each site, so the only thing I want to be different between the two profiles is which WP is designated "home". I currently have two versions of the WP file, one designating one launch site "home"; the other version/file, the other site. Today, though, I set out to try to get the two profiles to use the same WP file after finding that my WP files had gotten out of sync. (It's a pain to have to make the same updates/corrections in two different files, and I apparently slipped up once and made a change or two in only one of the two files, forgetting to do so in the other one.)
So I figured I'd try using a waypoint notes file. After trouble and a good bit of experimenting, I found that I could use this approach to designate a landable WP "home" but not to designate a non-landable WP "home". Interesting... LK allows non-landable WPs to be designated "home" by modifying the WP file, so I figured I could do the same via the waypoint notes file, too. Is this just an "unintended feature". :-)
In hang gliding and paragliding, the launch site is often (USUALLY where I live and fly) NOT landable. Nonetheless, I like to designate my launch site, not my landing site, "home" - if for no other reason than that by so doing, when I start LK in simulator mode, I'm placed at my usual takeoff location.
Any chance LK could be modified to allow me to designate a non-landable WP "home" via a waypoint notes file? Until then, my tendency to err means it's only a matter of time before I get these two WP files out of sync again. :-)
Thanks,
Eric
P.S. I tested/confirmed this behavior today using beta version 2.3o. |

Hi,
I found that this hasn't been fixed (as of beta version 3.1b), so I looked into it and worked out the fairly simple fix. May I make this change, Paolo? If so, all that's left to do is push it to Github and open a pull request for it.
Thanks,
Eric |

May I share this fix? I've successfully tested it and think it's good to go.
Thanks,
Eric |

Will do. I'll wait a few days before posting it. No hurry. Good luck with the PC re-setup. Yuck!
