No, we wont add it for many reasons. The very first reason is that LK8000 is using sounds for user actions, in order to let you understand what you are doing even without looking at the screen (for example advancing through the pages). The second reason is that LK8000 is not a variometer. I understand some people dont want to spend for a variometer, and dont want to spend for a PNA, and basically they want to go airborne only with their smartphones. But I will not spend my time to make this people save some money, sorry.

| why smartphone?? I want to buy a glidertools vario for my PNA because I heard that works good with LK8000, no? cant lk8000 silence the vario sound when user action sounds are played? my PNA car software can do that for when I play music in the background for example!! |

Hallo Coolwind,
please think that no all the pilot has their glider.
For example I fly with the gider of our club who has not the acustic vario.
So it should be very nice for me the acustic vario on LX8000
Regards
Michele

| Michele, you are obviously a newpilot, otherwise you would know that in a glider a variometer kept inside the cockpit is very late, due to pressure latency, and is worth nothing for this reason. |

Hallo Coolwind,
now in the glider I use a Brauniger Iq Basic GPS, the same that I use with my hanglider.
It works perfectly, better then the pneumatic winter intruments.
Thanks
Michele

You can assign the vario bar to different values among vario, netto and speed to fly. But we dont have it showing average vario, because that value is printed already in numbers when we are thermalling. I mean, it would be only a cosmetic function, and maybe it is better not to show the vario bar at all unless it is needed, because the space on screen is limited. |

I really think it is a good idea to add an audio vario to LK8000.
1.) The vario sounds can be eliminated when traffic, or other important sounds are played.
2.) Using a high speed gps, accelerometer, 3d rate of rotatin, airspeed/pitot pressure, static pressure, etc could lead to some amazing features.
(I personally believe that dynamic soaring behind the shoulder of a mountain will be possible, where you fly out of a wind shadow/eddy into the wind, turn around and fly back behind the mountain again.)
