I decided to try an inexpensive Android 6 inch tablet (Chinese made, model K0708 which is shared by several brands: GPS, 2SIM, Bluetooth, Wifi). The tablet runs what appears to be mostly stock Android 6. XCSoar will load and work. LK8000, however, chimes when I try to open it and then the screen blacks out and the device freezes. I have installed it several times, but each time the same result. Without the screen working, I cannot see at what stage of opening it has frozen.
I'm not an engineer, and have no ideas what to try, or whether to save my time. Would any of you have some suggestions to try to get LK8000 running stably on this device?

If it is at all meaningful in thinking this problem out, LK8000 was labeled with "this app may not be optimized for your device". I am assuming that LK8000 will work with Android 6. Is there something else that triggers this kind of label?

what is your device exactly ? K0708 seem's to be 8 inch android 4.4 device, not 6 inch android 6 ...
in all case Android 6 is supported.
do you have RUNTIME.log file inside LK8000 directory ?

Instead of guessing it is Android 6, make sure which version you are running by checking into the settings>System>About "Your device"> Android Version.
My experience with these cheap tablets is that the displays are impossible to read under bright sunlight, beside they are too slow for today's apps, or apps do not work at all. |

Yes, my mistake. It is 8 inches (I wasn't measuring diagonal).
Android version is listed as 6.0.
