Since we have the radio interface it would be nice to support more devices.
I want to implement a driver for the Becker Radios.
Can someone provide me a Becker 620x Radio for some weeks?

Thanks to Ernst Dieter I got a Device, a new device driver available for betatest. Drop me a PM!
Please note the AR620x series have no RS232 but RS422 interface.

AR620x specials:
-no RS232 but RS422 for remote controll
-no Station names support on AR6201, but in LK800 dialog (like KRT2)
-volume cannot be controlled from extern (because it is a hardware potentiometer)

To connect the AR620x you mus have a RS422:
For example this adapter will make the Job but need an extra 5V Supply
"ITC19110"
If you're using an OTG Connection this might be a better solution "LINDY 42844 - USB RS422 Konverter"
Pinning described here:
http://www.brainboxes.com/files/catalog/product/US/US-324/img/US-324_RS-422_485_Pinout.jpg
Connect it to as described here:
T+ <-> RX2+ (J1 Pin 3 )
T- <-> RX2- (J1 Pin 10)
R+ <-> TX2+ (J1 Pin 2 )
R- <-> TX2- (J1 Pin 9 )
GND <-> GND (J1 Pin 23)
VCC <-> +5V
For More information ref this manual on Page 84:
http://www.becker-avionics.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/AR620X_IO.pdf

The communication settings are 9600_8N1
9600Bd
8 data Bits
No Paraity
1 Stop Bit

;-) AL

Edit:
other RS422 can be found by searching RS323 RS422 adapter, e.g.:
https://www.amazon.de/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=rs232+auf+rs422&tag=googhydr08-21&index=aps&hvadid=155854363839&hvpos=1t3&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7832939313075025950&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9043926&hvtargid=kwd-3037618433&ref=pd_sl_4xrjigaaa_b

If you want direct TTL Level (e.g. for WiFi, IOIO or Bluetooth modules):
http://www.electrodragon.com/product/rs422-ttl-module-full-duplex-rs-422/

The Pin definition looks weird but means:
A = R+
B = R–
Y = T+
Z = T–

Cool - I have all my other gadget hooked up to my android via IOIO. Would the described RS422-RS232 converters do the job via a hook up to a spare IOIO UART as well?

regards
Torsten

Of course!
IOIO<->RS232<->RS485

you can also use WiFi innstead of IOIO
