Hello, I'm a glider pilot using LK8000 and be very happy with it. Thanks guys. My new project is a drone for photo flights following GPS tracks. The heart is a AHRS system with all sensors and I/Os a glider pilot can dream off. There is a seriall output of all data for telemtrie. The protocol is MAVLink 1.0. The AHRS provides realy everthing. Drift corrected X,Y,Z, compass based on mag sensor(dev automatic), pressure, speed, vario, gps and so on. These data could be very useful to do exact calculation(wind, vario...) or showing us an artificial horizon in LK8000. The divice and firmware is also open source and is sold at a reasonable price(200$). At the end there are many I/O for all other stuff. Analog or digital, serial ports. A 3 axis camara gimbal control is already included in the code. Just connect 3 servos and some mechanic and your camera is stabile. My be you are interested. The project: APM2 by DIYDrones Protocol: MAVLink1.0
happy gliding and best regards from Germany Klaus |

I searched concerning the AHRS topic but did not find much news. It would be interesting to integrate the ICFly AHRS module in combination with a FLARM. So you have all essential sensors + GPS + FLARM via a WLAN hotspot created by the AHRS module. Currently this is supported by FlyMap but a non commercial alternative will be interesting.
