I am trying to edit the Home waypoint. The official altitude when producing a waypoint file is wrong and I have edited the waypoint in a text editor to the correct altitude, but LK8000 will not recognise the change, and shows the old figure in GPS Ht and in waypoint details.
Any idea how I can make it use the new figure please?

just two ideas,
-the altitude must be entered in meters.
-LK must be turned off/on in order to recognize the modified data.

Which version are you using?
Already made a new waypoint using PAN mode -> location marker.
The location marker had the correct elevation derived form the terrain file.
the location marker are stored in the _Waypoints folder LKYYYYMMDD.cup (YYYY=year, MM=month, DD=Day) and can be easily be edited or it content copied to the main waypoint file.

Also tried to modify a waypoint elevation under Setup Page 21. "Edit Waypoints" Worked as expected.

HI Ulli, using 5.0a as I have for the last 18 months.. Have tried ft and M but never had a problem with using either, shut down and started again many times, same on PC and V2. Have done similar edits many times with no problem previously, using Notepad++ as text editor. There was an odd thing, the files had become read only, and I thought I'd sorted it when I found that, but changing it has made no difference. I'm using cup files but modified to change the order of the fields so that the BGA trigraphs appear on the map, so that edit worked OK. I hadn't thought about page 21, but have now tried it, and that doesn't work either.
To put figures to it, I want to change the present alt from 1350ft to 1279 ft. When LK8000 starts HGPS and QFE both read 1350, but after a few seconds QFE changes to 0 as expected. HAGL shows 73, and 1350-73 = 1277, which is near enough the figure I want. There is no duplicate waypoint anywhere. I've tried deleting the waypoint file, and re-installing it with one that definitely shows 1279ft, but LK8000 still shows 1350. GPS Alt Offset is 0.

Try elevation as a decimal number.

1279ft > 1279.0ft (= 389.8m)

This is what cup-format says about elevation:

6. Elevation
It is a string with a number with unit attached. Unit can be either
"m" for meters or
"ft" for feet.
Decimal separator must be a point.

Make sure you are using the correct format.
Each line represents one waypoint with these fields, separated by commas.
Here is an example:
"Lesce-Bled","LESCE",SI,4621.666N,01410.332E,505.0m,2,130,1140.0m,"123.50","Home airfield"

Thanks BL, but I have ben using the correct format, been using it a long time. Though as I said before, I modified it a long time ago as well, and its been working.
However, when I started LK8000 this morning it was correct. 1279 ft. The only thing different that I've done was to shut the V2 down overnight, rather than just shutting LK8000 down each time.

sounds like a file attribute problem to me, you should check the filesystem and/or SD card.
