Hi guys, I'm in a "testing week" and I'd like to test V2 and Zander or GP941 connections. I mean task declaration via LK8000, waypoints upload and update, airspaces, flights dowload via ConnectMe... I'd like to know if someone has already tested ConnectMe on V2 or clones and (please) where the hell I can find ConnectMe without purchasing SeeYouMob. Thanks! |

http://www.naviter.com/products/connectme/ There it says: "This is free software. You may download it from this website and use it on your Pocket PC immediately." and "Please download ( http://www.naviter.com/products/seeyou-mobile/ ) the latest firmware for your Oudie or SeeYou Mobile. ConnectMe is included in these packages." |

The problem with downloading the PNA version of the SeeYou Mobile software from Naviter is that you get a Zip file that holds 166 files and is 24,543KB in size. You're supposed to copy all of these files to your device's storage card.
I don't need SeeYou Mobile, I just want ConnectMe. Does anyone know which of these files are required for ConnectMe, and which can safely be deleted? Thanks in advance. |

Thanks, Alpha Lima - that has possibilities. But I’m used to ConnectMe and it works very well for downloading files from my flight data recorder (Andrej does good work)! So, I decided to try a hack. I ended up with a slimmed down, working version of ConnectMe.
I started by unzipping the Naviter SeeYouMobile/ConnectMe PNA file I had download to a folder on my PC. In this unzipped folder I eliminated everything in the root directory except the 2577 folder. Inside the 2577 folder I eliminated both folders (be aware that removing the Lang folder removes the language changing ability of ConnectMe). I then removed Autorun.exe, cMeToday.dll, mCUToday.dll, mSeeYou.exe, mSeeYou.htm, SeeMon.exe and SwitchProfile.exe. If you know which loggers you’ll never use, you can eliminate their dll files, too. I only kept cecai302.dll, cecai.dll, ceflarm.dll, ceimifr.dll and cevl.dll. With these deletions, my total 2577 folder size with ConnectMe was a little over 2 mB.
I copied this modified 2577 folder onto my MIO 400’s flash drive. Then, I navigated to the ConnectMe.exe line in the 2577 folder and ran the program. ConnectMe only runs in Portrait mode, but it has full functionality otherwise.
I then copied this modified 2577 folder onto my Vertica V2. Again, ConnectMe only runs in Portrait mode, but it has full functionality. However, there are two annoyances on the V2:
1. ConnectMe messes with the Today list every time it runs, even without the cMeToday.dll file being present - it always inserts and checks a ConnectMe item in your Today list. So, when you exit ConnectMe you’ll see a ConnectMe icon displayed on its own line below the Microsoft flag at the top left corner of the screen. The cure is to tap Start/Settings/Today/Items and uncheck ConnectMe - every time you exit ConnectMe! Or you can learn to live with it, like me.
2. The second annoyance occurred only once, but it really frightened me when it happened. Somehow ConnectMe unchecked the item iPhoneToday in the Today list, causing the nice iPhone-like desktop on the V2 to disappear. I thought I’d badly messed up my V2! However, the cure is simple (tap Start/Settings/Today/Items and check iPhoneToday).
I hope this write-up proves useful to someone else on this board.

Congratulations! Good work! Connect Me in Today is uncomfortable, but can live with it.. |
