Version 3.0b
Pocket PC, WIN CE, Medion MD 9500
LK8000 shuts down when map view is active and zoomed out beyond the maximum (75km)
Software problem or machine based problem?

If you can normally replicate the problem, please zip the entire LK8000 folder of PNA, upload it somewhere and send me the link so I can check, thanks!

I can replicate the problem (also with 3.0a). All the stuff (airspaces, maps, sytem, polares etc.) are original uploaded from LK8000 homepage.
Have to find out where I can upload the entire zip. Is there no spot on this site? Thanks. |

I see this is a PPC2003 device from 2004, 8 years ago.
I cannot test on such device. Can you report here the latest session from runtime.log ?

Hi,
I can do the same crash with my Mio400 (Glidertool Unlock).
LK8000 3.0b
Simulator or Fly mode.
Autozoom off, Active map off ,Airspace on ,on the ground, juste zoomout:zoom out 50km ok, 75km =>crash after about 3sec .

I have an other Mio400 to unlock for my friend.
No problem with Zoom 75km.
I try to know what is the pb on mine.

After some tests on both mio M400.
I think the Pb is due to FRA_FULL.LKM
I can reproduce this PB on both when i use FRA_FULL.LKM map file.
I test with only FRA_FULL.LMK file declared .
No terrain file, no waypoints 1,2 ,no airspace 1,2 .
Wpt outside terrain :Include or Exclude
No task
English and Français language
After Zoom out at 75km , wait 8-10 sec and then LK8000 crash.
This config was not saved before tests, i setup this config manually.
If i save this config and retart LK8000 directly whith only FRA_Full.lkm i can't reproduce this problem.

Thanks DanyD and Coolwind, I already started to search for a "newer" device in means to replace my Pocket pc by a e.g. hp ipaq hx4700.
Very important to know that the problems is software based.
In the meantime I investigated another type of crash - LK8000 dies (no further action is possible -> hardware reset necessary) when I`m working on an empty task and starting with "berechnete zeit 1440min" (calculated time 1440min) no waypoints inserted...
Maybe the the attached logs help.The date of the system is wrong
Mar 28 of LK8000 means 11/12.4.2012 (yesterday/today - approx 3 or crashes...)

| As soon as I can replicate the crash you will get a precise step by step description. I guess it has to do with the fact that the task is empty (no saved way points) and LK8000 tries to calculate the task if I start the "Task Calculator" (checksum of waypoints not o.k....). Crash happens when I push the button "Target" (but there is no saved target...)-> dead end. |

Problem found, a solution is under work for the topology crash.
Confirmed: appearing only on CE 5 devices with no more than 64M ram, using big LKM topology maps.
Does not happen on CE 6.
Problem due to topology cache method. A fix will follow.

Ok, I have fixed it.
The problem was not with the cache algorithm itself, but a poor resource management I had choose. :(
32M memory per process under WinCE5 is getting smaller as we use larger mapsets, and more data.
