I've just bought a new MIO M610 to have a larger screen than my old M400.
It's impossible to see anything of the LK8000 in the daylight... Does someone have an answer to this problem?
Thank's

I do have the same problem and do not have the answer yet, but here is how far I have come.

I unlocked the Mio Moov M610 with the mio_moov_unlock.zip:

http://www.postfrontal.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4337&SearchTerms=mio_moov_unlock.zip

I did not manage to set the desktop icons for LK8000 according to the information given by

‘To set up desktop icons for LK8000 and LK8000 simulator’

But, by using the information in item 1 to 6 given in

‘Assuming the S501 is the same as the M400’

I am able to run LK8000.

At this stage I am not able to turn on the full screen backlight of my M610 and hence it is impossible to read the screens of LK8000 in sunlight at this stage.

I next downloaded MioPocket Mini 4.0 Release 2 (Google it)

I unzipped the MipPocket Mini on my computer and transferred the folders Media and MioAutorun to M610 according to the instructions given in the

MioPocket readme.html

document within the minpocket zip file.

I have been playing for hours trying to figure out to which directory on my M610 the files

MioAutoRun.exe
MioAutoRun.mscr
MortScript.exe
Should be copied to, and what names the MioAutorun program files should be renamed to without any success.

Just for a test I copied the 3 files above to the root directory of M610 and run MioAutorun from the root of my M610.

The MioPocket installed itself on the M610 and I was able to adjust the backlight of the screen to full power from within the Device settings on the More screen within the MioPocket skin.

It is now possible to start LK800 on M610 and the screen is readable in full sunlight directly on the screen.

The problem is LK8000 can only be run until the M610 is turned off.
The next time M610 is switched on there is a lot of error messages popping up on the screen, and I have to remove the MioPocket SW and start all over again.

My hope is that somebody reading this forum has the solution of where the files

MioAutoRun.exe
MioAutoRun.mscr
MortScript.exe

Should be copied on the M610 and what the new name for the two MioAutRun files should read.

Problem solved.

When your M610 has been unlocked with the mio_moov_unlock.ZIP and LK8000 is installed use the FilemanCE and navigate to:

\My Flash Disk\MioAutoRun\Programs\device-Specific\Mio\Moov Settings

Run: Settings.exe

Adjust the backlight to max and exit the program.

Now load LK8000 and Voila problem solved.

The MioAutoRun folder is copied to the M610 from the unzipped
MioPocket Mini 4.ZIP file unzipped on your computer.

By the way, please post a picture comparing screens of M400 and M610, or, if you don't have the 400 anymore, please tell us your opinion.

I've just finsish to push the brightness on both, 400 and 610, but need to see tomorrow with daylight and pearhaps with sun the difference. I'll try to take a comparative picture.
If LK8000 is still on the PNA, you just need to copy the famous MioPocket Mini 4.0 Release 2 on your device and go to
\My Flash Disk\MioAutoRun\Programs\device-Specific\Mio\Moov Settings
and launch Settings.exe
really easy!

under the cloud shadow at 11 a.m.:

and with full sun at 1 p.m.:

another problem is that the 610 cannot keep the brightness configuration , I need to push it at each start and I'have'nt find the way to create a working shortcut from the "settings.exe". I cannot stop it from LK8000 or from desktop, I always need to launch the MIO GPS, has someone a solution?

The result is worst that with Mio 400.
Is any Mio better then the 400? Any spirit model?
I believe that I will ask to Mio store directly.
I'm needing a second unit, it needs to be low cost as M400 was.

The M610 can be switched off if you exit LK8000 and navigate to:

My Flash Disk\LK8000\_System\_CEUtilities

And run: Off.exe

Thanks for your offer.
Anyway, I would like to find if one with 5" screen could have so good screen performance as the M400.

HOW TO CREATE A SHORTCUT ON M610:

Connect your M610 to your PC

Start the Notebook program on your PC

Open the file: Programfiles\unlock\desktop\settings.lnk

with your notebook program

Modify the file to look like:

71#"\My Flash Disk\MioAutoRun\Programs\Device-Specific\Mio\Moov Settings\settings.exe

(All above on the same line)

Save the file and exit notebook

The shortcut has been created.

You can create a shortcut for LK8000 in the same manner.

24#"\My Flash Disk\LK8000\LK8000-PNA.EXE
