Hello Paolo May i suggest 3 changes in AAT for gliders ???
1) Auto optimisation of route given minimun Task Time: this will avoid the need to enter the task calculator and do the optimisation manually, every time the MC changes, or one flyes a different target than the "optimised".....
2) Optimised calculations of target point to just the minimun task time, not minimun task time +5 min. as actually is..... this will give an exact value and allow the pilot to judge if he is in time, or early or late..... 5 min. early or late is a LOT of time in a competition.
3) A new "advance" type, that someone else suggested time ago: Auto Start with ARM WP...this is just a detail for comfort, not too important...
What do you think, would it be possible ???
Many thanks to all the team for this fantastic soft, once again...
Happy Hollydays !!

| AAT is still worked on, I am also waiting for the improvements on this functionality.. really important because AAT's tend to be used more and more during competitions. |

Mat is working on AAT right now, and he has already committed many good fixes in 2.3d. The 2.3d will be out by end of august. |

Sorry Al, that isnīt what i was asking for. I mean not to do more " menu->nav->task calc->optimize->ok " (that is, 5 clicks in different buttons !!) every time we want the route optimized, based on AutoMc changes or advancing to next area.... The start type Auto, with ARM at the areas was asked for many times, and Mat understood it, but dont know what happens, wasnīt done..... Thanks Al
Cheers

| Well, you can use a costom key for it (Task Calculator), but the otimisation does not give a good result because it does not include your current position. A permanent otimisation does not make sense. |

Al, sorry, youīre wrong. Optimisation works fine. And yes, it is made taking Minimun Time, MC and your distance to the target into account. It works very well, every time you do it manually. Just set up an AAT task in sim mode and see for yourself. So the request was to make it auto, every time MC changes, or every time the pilot make an "advance" to next area.... is it that difficult ??? it is already done in code !!..... Modifying the calc so min.time is just min.time and not min.time + 5ī???? Adding start type=auto with ARM in wp ??? Will these points be taken into account sometime ????
Thanks Horacio

OK, I had a look into the code. We already do have an auto optimisation, but for paragliders only at the moment. (don't know why) It would be no problem to enable it for gliders as well but I'm afraid there was a reasons to disable it for gliders, maybe someone else can tell. Anyhow you can test it in paraglider mode if it is also OK for gliders. You can use the "Optimized route toggle" as costom key. "Auto arm in WP" is a different thing, seems t be a bit more complicated. AL |

Careful playing with arming turnpoints, for each advantage lies a problem hidden behind, in the code.

Thanks Al, Iīm not familiar with paraglider mode, however i found a basic difference in AAT for gliders, and it is that in paraglider it seems to donīt have the option to setup a minimum time for the task.... so i think the calcs are different from one mode to another ???? Setting (and using) "optimized route toggle" in a custom key, has no effect when in glider mode; noted that it works in PG mode....
