Before you tell me: I know that last cylinder (finish) is still showing distance to the center. I had no time to make it better than it is in 2.3c, due to the huge amount of changes already accounted in this version. So expect that we shall work out a much better task system for paragliders in the next version, and fix any problem that might show up in the meantime.

Optimized route: "Optimization can be enabled in Paragliders config menu 23, and as a customkey. When enabled, the T> overlay, the Next waypoint distance, altitude diff, bearing etc. are all related to the optimized turn point on the cylinder."
Dist to next wp seems to be the optimized one always, while req Eff changes from optimized to normal when togelling between opt and nrmal mode. (Optimize ON in system setup, switching on/off with custom key) |

Strange, Dist To Next works fine for me depending if optim or not optim. Please always triple check in this phase, before calling for a bug.

Hi Guillaume, yes, thats true. This is a last detail still missing in optimization of routes. The strange error with the suggested route in your screenshot has been around since pre LK days, from the old AAT optimization.
(suggested entry to the penultimate cylinder is on the side of the cylinder, approx at the tangent point, then a roughly 90 degree turn is suggested to reach the goal cylinder)
Would be nice to have this sorted before 3.0 :-) |

| I think we also have the same problem on the first waypoint. |

Hi Coolwind and/or Kalman,
I'm just curious if fixing the problem with optimization for a goal cylinder inside another cylinder is scheduled yet? This is the standard type of finish for paragliding tasks, with "End of Speed" (ES) at 1000m radius, then a 400m radius goal cylinder, where the timing stops at the 1000m cylinder, but you still have to make it into goal.
I would consider this more as a bug than an improvement, and its an ancient one too, existing in AAT optimization for a long time (pre LK..).
Should I open a bug report on this one?
Here is the illustration from Guillaumes post above:

Unless someone else is doing this very quickly, very very quickly , it will not be part of 3.0. No developers from paragliders did help a bit on this matter, except Bruno maybe, but his work was not ready to be merged and he disappeared. I myself have no plan to do it in the next months, no time. |

| Yes, but my screenshot shows that optimize route is not working properly. |

| It's working fine on the only task I have here to test but I have some reports that in some cases is giving the direction to the center of the waypoint. |
