Today I was setting a new installation of LK8000 for a glider pilot and I just notice one thing that can be a bug. I cannot add a New Waypoint to a empty file.

- Delete all the waypoints files that you have in _Waypoints folder
- Open LK8000, go to System Menu > 21 Waypoint Edit > and Press "SAVE"... > Close system Menu (with this step two waypoints files are created by LK8000: waypoints1.dat and waypoints2.dat)
- Go Back to System Menu > Select waypoints1.dat to Waypoints 1 and waypoints2.dat to Waypoints 2
- Close System Menu
- Go back to system menu > 21 Waypoint Edit > Press "NEW" ..

I dont know if it is written in the docs. But it will be done in next: it is NOT possible to add waypoints to a nonexisting file.
If you want to create waypoints, first you must create a waypoint file and configure it, even if empty.

In such a case I suggest disable Waypoint Add/Edit interface in System Setup when Waypoint file is not provided. Another option would be to create some arbitrary empty file for the user. What is your opinion on that?

The solution to disable add waypoint when no file is configured looks good to me.
I'll check it. One of the reasons is that with no existing file, there is no known format to save waypoints to, also.
So there are a bunch of problems to solve in order to accomplish the simple task "save waypoints in a new file".

What are you talking about? :P Don't you see that I have one waypoints file selected eheh :D Check the first image...

I'm using waypoints files created by LK8000! Can you at least try to replicate what I did?

- Delete all the waypoints files that you have in _Waypoints folder
- Open LK8000, go to System Menu > 21 Waypoint Edit > and Press "SAVE"... > Close system Menu (with this step two waypoints files are created by LK8000: waypoints1.dat and waypoints2.dat)
- Go Back to System Menu > Select waypoints1.dat to Waypoints 1 and waypoints2.dat to Waypoints 2
- Close System Menu
- Go back to system menu > 21 Waypoint Edit > Press "NEW" ...

Doesn't make sense to me to have two empty files created by LK8000 selected to create new waypoints and getting the message "No waypoint file selected, cannot save"... I have two files selected! ehehe

Ok using CUP files no problems. Only using DAT file, the new waypoint is not saved into file clicking on the SAVE button, however just closing without clicking on SAVE will notify waypoint has changed and new wp is correctly saved..
