I have no backlight problem on the MIO 400. Once set to max, it never resets like other PDAs and PNAs. So no need to change it. The mio moov unlock is very straightforward , 30 seconds and it is ready to use!!

Today I had another flight with the MIO 400, which is replacing the HP314 in my cockpit. Visibility was excellent! Here is a picture taken at h15 while heading east at 2560m QNH. Sun is on the back-right, very strong.

Ciao, I don't know if I did something wrong but the road navigation software (SmartST) does not find the GPS anymore after unblocking the MIO. I guess it works the first time but after a reset it stops seeing GPS. LK8000 continues to get GPS without any problem. JL |

Hello! I'm very happy of my Mio Moov M400, yesterday I tested in flight with our ASK21 Glider's club. The battery duration was about 1,5 hour but it wasn't at 100% full charge, only 70% at takeoff with no power supply from cockpit. The used software was LK8000 1.22a.

The backlight in the photo was about 80%. For setting brightness at 100% is necessary editing:
\\My Flash Disk\Program Files\Navman\SmartST_CE\UserData\user_settings.xml
and add lines:
<property name="screen brightness" value="10" /> <property name="screen brightness at night" value="10" />

Could someone post a pix of Oudie in direct sunlight to see how it fares with M400? Speaking of Oudie, what Chinese unit is a base of that? A. |

Answering my own post concerning MIO nav software not working anymore after the unlock. I forced gps port to COM2 in the ini scrip. file name : G:\Program Files\Navman\SmartST_CE\UserData\device_settings.ini
changes in bold
[HWVersion=100] gps port=COM2 ...
[GPS=ATHEROS] gps port open=true gps port=COM2 ...
Would be curious to know if other people had the same issue. Not that it is very important but it is still nice to be able to use the road navigation software. |

2nd attempt doh!
Big thanks to Paulo and all the team. LK8000 1.22b working very well on my HP314. I have bought a Mio Moov 400 for the rear cockpit, but for some reason I cannot get the application to open, after unlocking the device. Could someone please give a little guide for the location of files, in the Moov or provide an ammendment to the LK8000 manual. Reading the posts I guess I am not the only one who is having probs.
Regards Richie |

I highly recommend to calibrate the stylus after unlocking the mio m400. I have 2 M400 and both where abolutly not calibrated correctly. After reset this has to be done again.
i googled and found a system param showexit=1 in ini file of the smartst navigation software. So you could go to desktop without reset. |

In which fiel did you add the showexit=1 parameter? Does it add an exit button to a menu page? JL |
