Yes, you have to put the waypoints inside the _Waypoints folder, Maps inside _Maps folders...
Next version will be supporting CompeGPS waypoints ;) |

I'm not the developer, Paolo is. And as he told already in another post: http://www.postfrontal.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3454 , Android port is not planned by now. He has to fix a LOT of old XCSoar bugs and he is adding a LOT of new stuff and he is doing all alone... so we have to be patient. |

It is pity, the Windiws is a shot way of PDA. A lot of problems. The RESET button is a lovely buttone. :-)) Amoled screens ( Sumsung) are very Light, but generaly use Android. |

They don't use Android because it is better than Windows CE. They use it because it is free of charge. Windows CE may reset sometimes, but if you write a software for a 12 years old device it will run smoothly on the newest if you respected specifications. So as I said first I support CE and then, when the sw is finished, I may port it to some other platform. In the meantime, it looks like a VMWARE machine will be running CE under linux, so theorically LK8000 could run perfectly on Linux soon with no efforts for me.

I agree with P. Coolwind that WinCE has long term support, especially for elderly devices, which is a fantastic option to revive those gadgets that once had been considered state of the art or if not, are useless otherwise nowadays.
With you I have to agree, that up to date hardware might have better features regarding display quality and readability. If you should not find an older WinCE HW that suits your needs for outdoors readability and you have to stick with Android for that reason, there is something for you as well.
