Mobile phones aspect ratio (width/height) is already high and getting worse, even 21:9. This affects the LK8000 map, as the unencumbered space available to the terrain display reflects those proportions, far from the optimal squared 1:1 aspect ratio (even better would be a circular shape).

This is the default appearance on the popular (amongst LK8000 users) Nokia 8:

Outlined in red is the space reserved for terrain, that reflects the hardware disproportion in width/height size. The Nokia 8 is a phone with a still reasonable 16:9 aspect ratio: it gets even worse with more recent phones.
An idea to solve the problem would be to move the InfoBox bar from the bottom to the side (left or right) when in landscape mode:

What do you think? Would you find a "squared" map more useful?
For the devs: is it feasible to implement this layout arrangement?
