My Nokia 8.3 runs on Android 10 and I cannot figure out how to set permissions to copy in waypoint, maps, airspace directories. Yes, I understand they are all under Android/data/...

any help with that?

In the last version of XCSoar, Storage Directory has moved to /android/media/org.xcsoar.
I think it would be a good idea to move the Storage Directory to /android/media/org.lk8000 on the LK8000 as well.
In the latest versions of Android, the directory /android/media has no problems with permissions.

saša

Hello Richreinauer,
have you tried with the app proposed by brunotl ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.marc.files)?
I had the same problem with my Pixel 4a Android 13, but with this app it is really simple.

Regards,
Al

Probably some access rights have been revoked because you have not used LK8000 for a long time.

I just tried on my Samsung Galaxy A34, when I tried to copy files, I did not see LK8000 in the list when tapping the "hamburger" in the top left corner and unable to copy files. But when opening LK8000, hit Start and then close LK8000 again.. then tried to copy a file again, and now LK8000 was visible and could copy the file to the desired directory.

Also tried this past weekend on my Pixel 7 with Android 14, there it worked just as it should be expected.

So in your case... Open and run LK8000 for 10-20 seconds to re-instate the access rights on your Android device, after that you should be able to copy files to the desired LK8000 directory.

using "Files" , you don't copy to "Android data folder", you copy to "LK8000 app", if you click on top left "burger" you will see LK8000 in the list ...

things started long times by Apple with iphone to simplify the user life and the data privacy, step by step wee need to stop thinking "Folder/File" but "App/Ressource" ...

My mistake. My Nokia 8.3 got upgraded to Android 12. I tried your suggesting of using the Files app and it didn't work. Copy Paste is simply not working between the device Download Directory and the Android data folder containing LK8000 files.

May have to use the Android Debug Bridge (ADB) or simply "root" this phone. Any other suggestions?
