Posted - 11/06/2012 : 23:23:59 Hi there, I use LK8000 and Wayteq 950 for one year now. My Logger in the glider (DX50) doesn't provide baro data to the wayteq. I was thinking about bying a Flarm and connect it to the Wayteq. Does anyone can tell me if Wayteq provides a sufficient Flarm Warning with the LK8000. Is the LK8000 able to use the baro data from the Flarm to provide sufficient data for LK8000 to create Speed to Fly values.
Thx Maik |

Posted - 03/07/2012 : 00:47:32 Baro data has little to do with speed to fly. You mostly need either an Indicated or True air speed data, in addition to a variometer data. If you dont have these values, LK will try to guess them and thus provide an estimated speed to fly.

Posted - 02/07/2012 : 23:53:52 just to make this clear, baro data is enough to drive the lk8000 speed to fly bar? I thought I need an excellent soaring logger with variometer outputs?

Posted - 13/06/2012 : 21:45:22 I din't have a Wayteq yet. I have a Mio M400. The Flarm is linked to Mio via a "Ka6team anschlussboard" (to be able to switch with my Volkslogger)and a home made RS232 to TTL (equivalent to the glidertools cable without alimentation).
This cable is not usable for Wayteq because the wiring of the miniUSB is specific for the Mio (or the Wayteq ...)
The Mio doesn't have a SDcard reader that's why I look for the Wayteq and I wonder how to unlock it.

Posted - 13/06/2012 : 10:44:00 Hi,
I've a LX RedBox Flarm linked to my Mio M400 baro altitude of the Flarm is used and I have all information of the other Flarm. The same when I change the flarm to a Volkslogger.
it's maybe out of scope, but how do you unlock your Wayteq?
Thx |

Posted - 12/06/2012 : 08:24:38 I have a Wayteq 950 connected to a Flarm via a RS232 to USB converter( http://www.glidertools.com/products/converter-rs232-to-usb-for-pna-with-switching-power-supply-5v/ ). It works just fine, and yes it provides baroaltitude. |
