Posted - 13/06/2012 : 18:01:28 Nico,
for the inner you have a M3 thread. Outer diameter bottom 4.3mm top 4.8mm The pin layout if you look to the 61cs with display up are:

The mini USB wires: green to RXD white to TXD red to DCIN black to GND

Posted - 13/06/2012 : 17:45:11 Hi Mazuk,
You did a great job! Can you give information about the inner and outer diameter of these threads and maybe a wiring diagram of the pogo-connector and the female mini-USB connector? (please specify front and back row)
Regards, Nico

Posted - 13/06/2012 : 17:03:10 No you can just screw the thread inserts:

Posted - 13/06/2012 : 16:38:41 Great, but how do you hold the thread-inserts-piece to the 61CS holes? Glue?
Thanks!

Posted - 13/06/2012 : 16:25:27 Yes the holes are the same just inserted threads. (don't know the english word for this may be thread inserts ) No need for drilling. And as you can see I left one insert more out to prevent a rotation of the adapter !

Posted - 13/06/2012 : 16:11:59 Hi Mazuk, nice work!
Tell me, are the holes (were the cradle fits) meant to take screws like that?
cheers,

Posted - 11/06/2012 : 15:29:14 Hi,
found an other source of the pogo connector. Price is about 5€ 6x2 connector see: http://de.rs-online.com/web/p/products/7020323/ main catalog : http://docs-europe.electrocomponents.com/webdocs/0e31/0900766b80e31ede.pdf
I ordered some to make a tiny adapter
Here a picture of the pogo connector

Posted - 11/06/2012 : 00:43:40 If the connector's wires also include the pins for GPIO 1-4 , I promise I will add support for them as hardware custom keys: customkeys bottom left, bottom center, bottomright and bottom icon will also be mapped to gpio 1-4 (hardware buttons), to allow remote controls or keypad. I already tested this solution, and personally I already bought all the necessary hardware to do it. I missed only the cannibalized cradle specs.

Posted - 10/06/2012 : 20:44:30 Here is link to *.pdf document, where is described, how to modify original Holux cradle for something more light and suitable for para/hang gliders pilots especially:http://www.wolf-gear.com/images/stories/61cs/gpsmile61cs_light_holder_mk2.pdf.
GPSmile61CS versions Free Flying (FF001) and XC001 will be equipped with this "light holder".
Complete unit with holder should be fixed by Velcro, glued on unit backside.
