I have an Oudie running LK8000 connected to an LX160. I can change the Mc and ballast (but not bugs) on the LK using the hardware switches on the LX160 but not the other way around. The same applies to bugs and ballast.

Nothing I do on the LK device seems to send data back to the LX160. I have tried auto Mc mode as well as manual.

Am I missing anything?

Now confirmed, the LX160si does not support bidirectional data transfer. It is only possible to control the LX using the LK800 unit and not vice versa.

I'm not 100% sure if the LX160 supports both directions, you should use the LX16xx driver and check if both directions Rx/Tx, with a terminal prgramm (e.g. Putty).
