Posted - 06/03/2012 : 22:14:03 Well I received one of these from Vladimir a few days ago. It is really an integrated vario, working perfectly and in my PNA did not need power supply once started. Very small, very very small. Another hit from GliderTools I think. A review shall follow as soon as possible..

Posted - 09/08/2012 : 09:26:13 Hi chris@lk8000,
just to add YES it works but only from the bottom 12 pin connector! The miniUSB in the battrey compartment is only for sd card / memory access.
Ciao Mazuk

standard GT-altimeter (no wayteq) solder a female miniUSB connector to the 4-wires (open end) of the UART cable and connect: -this cable to the 4 pins connector on the cradle, -the female miniUSB to the GT-altimeter -the female side of the altimeter to a 5v powersupply
(the 2 pin power cable is not connected)
check page 4 of this topic where Mazuk is showing it: http://www.postfrontal.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6096
I've tried it myself and it works! |

Vladimir, can we count on a version suitable for the 61CS or do we have to use Jarek's GoflyPico instead? |

Posted - 01/05/2012 : 11:36:44 Has anybody been able to connect the CS61 to a Flarm using the rs232 or a glide tools cable? I currently using it but I would like to connect the Flarm to have Vario altitude

Posted - 20/03/2012 : 15:30:25 My new "toy" just arrived! I'm really impressed about the quality of the product! GT Vario is the first product I get from GliderTools and I have to congratulate them for the great job! I wish I could have this product 3 years ago when I spend more then 300€ to buy a Flymaster F1!
I wish we could have audio on LK8000 to combine with GT Vario :)

Posted - 19/03/2012 : 17:12:02 Hello, I was really interested to see the recent release of the GT altimeter, it looks like a very neat product. Could anyone tell me if there are any plans to produce a version that communicates airspeed to the PNA also, with measurements taken from a gliders existing pitot/static tubes or maybe compatible with some of the airspeed measuring devices currently used on Paragliders. The Airspeed measurement is essential for accurate final glide and speed to fly calculations as well as total energy compensation and it would seem the GT altimeter could easily provide this functionality if it had 2 pressure sensors with temperature compensation. Inputting airspeed, barometric altitude and vario readings directly to a PNA would then provide all the capabilities of the hugely expensive flight computers at a fraction of the cost. |

Posted - 14/03/2012 : 23:30:40 I am interesting only about Holux GPSmile61CS ... And in mini USB of this GPS is only TTL input or output also? And on special 12 pin connector is only RS232 output? Also TTL ? Thx |

Yes, i have one 61CS, one V1, one funtrek 130, the &!CS have in the mini USB with RS232 TTL, y test this next send the picture with vario work, the other port in the cable is output not input |

Posted - 14/03/2012 : 15:09:51 I got my GT Altimeter today and have been setting up at home. Looks good, everything seems to work correctly on both the iPAQ 314 and M400 until, (on the iPAQ only, the M400 does not do this) I re-set the pressure in Setup Basic to 1013.25. Then go to Sideview, and all that appears is the left hand side interface panel, no view of the airspace in any of the 3 sideviews, just the map. Cancel that and go back to Setup Basic, tap on box to change pressure setting again, and get a very odd view of the interface, and no table of pressures to select, just 1013.25 on a small yellow panel at the top. Tried shutting down and re-starting several times, it always happens. If needed I will post some pictures.
