Posted - 25/07/2011 : 15:05:24 I am pleased to announce that Medion has sent me devices to work on for full integration of LK8000. The S3747 http://www.medion.com/de/electronics/prod/MEDION%C2%AE+GoPal%C2%AE+S3747+WEU/30011637A1 is water proof, for outdoor usage, with a 1800mA long lasting battery. It is the same BV-3200 hardware.
Under direct sunlight is very good, quite like the FunTrek, although this is a bigger 3.5 inches screen. I shall make some pictures today.
Internally, this device has a pressure sensor, digital compass and 3 axis accelerometer, plus a temperature sensor, and BlueTooth audio (not sure if it does SPP for serial). I still have to discover all features, so this is only a preview.
Thanks to Medion and Royaltek, I now have all necessary libraries and documentation to make use of internal sensors, and let LK take control of backlight, sound, baro altitude, and power supply, pretty quickly.
It would have been impossible in practice, without having one device to work on and test.
I know other manufacturers are working on more models, bigger screen, full sensor, and will come out with these devices in next months.

Posted - 08/04/2013 : 17:21:59 I have tried about 14 days to force the Bluetooth to work in SPP (serial) mode. I searched the internet, tried to install the various utilities, edit registry ... When I make some changes to the registry for BT SPP, system must be restarted to apply. The key problem is that they the system always starts up in its original form and all changes made before shutting down are lost. I was angry, so I sold it and bought Holux 61CS which has a serial input.
I am informed that even tried glidertools but also unsuccessful.

Posted - 08/04/2013 : 12:27:24 I have no idea. But I would bet you cannot communicate with SPP. |

Posted - 08/04/2013 : 10:44:02 Hi Paul, What profiles does the bluetooth stack come with? Can you communicate with a C-Probe or Sensbox via spp? Thanks, Peter |

Posted - 21/12/2012 : 00:51:02 I use the BV3200 for trekking in the alps, and I set the backlight to be turned off after 15 seconds of no touch. The display in full light is readable without need of backlight. The battery on this device and this configuration can last about 10 hours, with LK running and logging. The only problem with this device is the glossy screen, which need an antiglare film also to protect the glass. Very good unit for outdoor, snow, rain, etc. The screen is larger than the funtrek, but not that good. Funtrek display is a piece of paper in the light.
I have replaced the Garmin 76CSX with this device for all-uses, because it is waterproof and has huge autonomy on its battery, and it has a barometric sensor. The entire work around trekking mode for LK v4 has been done using this device, so it is absolutely fully supported.

Posted - 21/12/2012 : 00:00:18 How long will it run on his own battery? Is this about the same as with the funtrek? Can it communicate with the flarm? I am afraid the size of the Holux funtrek is too small for XC flying in a glider (e.g. check airspace). This unit is cheap and l think the size of the screen is big enough for me.

Posted - 02/02/2012 : 06:17:43 Maybe I'm explaining this wrong but the instructions here http://www.gauss-net.de/pna2.htm talk about a hidden button on the top left of a menu. I cant find this button anywhere to open explorer. I'm kinda stuck until I can get there...any help as to which menu it is? |

Posted - 01/02/2012 : 23:01:23 Negrosso, the BV3200 I have doesnt have the same menu structure as the medion. Do you know which screen the hidden menu is located in or a method to Miopocket it? |

Posted - 30/01/2012 : 23:07:14 In fact my BV3200 does not have that screen, and it is not an ANT device too. But I think it makes no difference, being a CE you should be able to use LK there. |

Posted - 30/01/2012 : 22:43:33 I have the BV3200 and the process looks very different from the Medions German instructions (even with Google translate ;-)
The menus look different and I'm starting to wonder if there is a hidden menu at all?

Posted - 22/01/2012 : 21:56:25 USB OTG requires some operations that are not clear to me, on PNAs, and I had no time to investigate. In theory many PNA support it, because the chipset supports it, and CE has all the drivers. In practice, I have no idea on how to activate it and I am not much motivated to test further.

Posted - 22/01/2012 : 20:12:24 And what about USB-OTG? (my mistake) - USB-host to connect GPS-logger (second GPS source) via USB |

Posted - 22/01/2012 : 17:58:33 It has the same problems. |
