One of the things I like LK8000 is the wind information, it's generally pretty accurate. But I find the black arrow graphic a little tricky to see sometimes against the background map.
Would it be possible to allow the user to select a preferred colour for the arrow, something like magenta would show up very well. I already do this for the overlay information, maybe it could be added to that.
Another thought would be to have the arrow graphic vary in length in proportion to the speed of the wind. That would be fun to try but in reality I'd most like to have the colour option because the wind speed is pretty easy to read anyway but the arrow makes the relative wind direction instantly understandable, so I use it a lot.
