Hi, this just an inconvenience rather than a bug: the airport symbols and waypoint markers are magnified as terrain is zoomed. Those symbols/icons should be the same size at all zoom levels not to clutter the view of the terrain.
That seems to happen with all LK8000 versions including v3.1M and with all screen modes (pan mode, flight mode, replay track).

Yes John,
I regret this as well, but it was also a scaling problem with different display resolutions of modern Andoid devices. Maybe in winter I find the time to fix that, but this need to be tested on so many different devices I don't even have.

Oh, that's a shame, AlphaLima. I found the runway length very useful as quick visual reference. It always worked really well for me....

Cheers

Since many users had problems with runway length, we hardcoded it to 1000m in the drwing fuction itself.

I have issue related to this topic, LK version 6.1r, config 11 Appearance, Landables Icon: Vector, Landables style: Boxed with units, it seems that runway is always displayed as 1000m long, ignoring waypoint "rwlen" property, I tried with rwlen 100m and 2000m, nothing changed in display, runway is always 1 km long. Runway direction "rwdir" works fine and properly changes runway on display. Looking into sources I am confirmed that ParseOpenAIP.cpp properly reads text value to the RunwayLen variable however I stuck at display code analysis.

no

File is working fine, very short "runways" in paragliding. In this situation Alternate in "Landables icon" fits better than Vector.
Only thing is that the runway elevation is not displayed when using Alternate, it seems like "Landables style" in config page 11 is ignored when using Alternate in "Landables icon".
Can that be changed?

I think your waypoint file is broken, incorrect or generated with errors.
Pedra Bonita is wrong.
after coordinates:
519 is altitude
3 is style
135 is orientation
5 is runway len

5m ??

do not use vector fields with such waypoints, they are obviously not good for flight.

Here is the picture

and here the wypoints file

name,code,country,lat,lon,elev,style,rwdir,rwlen,freq,desc
"Pedra Bonita",RAMPA,BR,2259.300S,04316.733W,519.0m,3,135,5.0m,"144.300",Sao_Conrado_Rampa
"Crokayne",CROKAYNE,BR,2259.083S,04315.917W,519.0m,1,,,,Crokayne

You can see that the rwdir (135 and 90) from the waypoint file appears rotated 90 degrees in the screen.
Using alternate, units (elev and rwdir) are not displayed, right?
AlphaLima Posted - 24/01/2013 : 18:50:32
This is simple, it is wider than long, which results in a 90° turned runway. The runway width has a fixed value of about 70m, depending on the screen resolution.
What I don't understand, why do you need an outlanding marker if 40m is enough?
davesalmon Posted - 24/01/2013 : 18:50:21
The wave entry often is quite close to the airfield, reminds me of my feature request to be able to visually show the aggregate of the ups and downs, to show where to concentrate, but that's another matter. It used to be worse, but I managed to edit out those big white wings for glider sites.
Many gliding sites do not have runways of course. What would be good would be the ability to edit the map to show an outline of the site. I did this a long time ago in other programs by producing the outline as an airspace, but it's not really a good way to do it.

I cannot confirm any problem with very short runways.

So please post a picture.

Yes, waypoints apear correctly, the issue is just with landables.
Using alternate solves the issue, minor downside is that there is no visual indication of runway direction (not relevant for paraglinding).
After some tests I´ve noticed that due to the very short length of the RWs they are not accurately represented and appear in the display as if they were sideways (90 degree rotate).
Here are some lines from my waypoints file if you would like to replicate it.

I think the problem Dave is talking about is the airfield symbol is covering the snail tail. So we may draw it "over" the airfield. Even it does not look like a big problem I'm aware this is a bigger change at this stage.
For me, the only situation where a 100m scale makes sense is searching a wave entry. So in that case you’re more interested in the snail tail. But it must be a big coincidence if the wave is exactly over an airfield. On the other hand you can easily turn it of Display 1/3->Lables, or you chose the Alternate landable icons.
Removing the dot is not a good idea; it makes the difference to an outlanding. And we should not change the symbol depending on the zoom level.

Uh, you mean we should not paint the circle and draw only the runway?
It looks like a minor issue when you are using a real zoom level in flight.
Unless you use very high zoom, which is not much useful to see around, the circle is not that big.
